If your AirTag is no longer within Bluetooth range of your Apple device, it will use other nearby Bluetooth Apple devices on the Find My network and use those devices to record your AirTag’s location.

If your AirTag is close to you and your Apple device supports Precision Finding, it will lead you straight to it. Precision Finding uses Ultra Wideband technology to provide spacial and directional information on supported Apple devices.
